During 2017 and the first months of 2018, over 80 new Ambulifts (including two A380 models) have been delivered to several Spanish airports after the AENA public tender won by PRM (People with Reduced Mobility) assistance service providers such as Acciona Airport Services, Ferrovial Servicios, Clece, EFS-Adelte and Interserve.

The equipment will operate for the next six years in the 20 largest airports of the Spanish network, which account for more than 96% of the country's air traffic and served more than 240 million passengers in 2017, of which nearly 1.5 million were PRM. Additionally, circa 60 PRM adapted vans where also delivered for the service agreement.

As a highlight point, over 30 pieces of equipment are under rental agreements which include maintenance, offering a great advantage in financial and cost terms for the companies providing the service.

The JV between Air-Rail, leading GSE and airport equipment provider in Spain with more than 25 years in the market and Tecnove By Jofrauto, leader vehicle bodybuilder with 30 years’ experience, started working on the deal in 2016, by designing and manufacturing in Spain premium Ambulift and Catering Truck equipment with the highest quality and standards.

After 18 months of hard work in the Spanish airport market, 2018 is foreseen to be the year of expanding the currents efforts in the European market with the equipment and the Catering Trucks.

Since 1992, Air-Rail supplies all range of GSE equipment (including renting) to provide aircraft assistance and runway support as well as hangar equipment for aircraft maintenance and overhaul services with presence in eight countries. In 2016, a JV with Tecnove by Jofrauto was created to provide premium Ambulift and Catering Trucks equipment to the market in both sales and rental solutions.
