If you customize your Windows color scheme and use a background color for text other than white, Find References may not highlight references in the text editor even the option to highlight is enabled in the options dialog for Visual Assist. If this is the case in your environment, and you want Visual Assist to highlight references, follow the following steps.
All IDEs
Open and close the options dialog of the IDE, which forces Visual Assist to re-read IDE settings.
Visual C++ 6.0
Additionally, in the IDE options dialog, change the font for Source Windows from Courier (the default) to Courier New.
Accept the change.
Close the IDE options dialog.
Optionally, re-open the IDE options dialog and restore font to Courier.
