Visual Studio 2008 and older
If you use a custom color scheme in Windows, e.g. you have set the global background color to black in the Windows Control Panel, you may find that several menus of Visual Assist use non-custom schemes. Such menus include: the refactoring context menu, the clipboard paste menu, and the menus shown when right-clicking in the VA View. The inconsistency occurs because the IDE does not necessarily respect the custom color schemes of Windows.
For example, if you choose to use a black background in Windows XP, with the XP-style turned on, then:
-
Visual Studio 2005 uses a pale cream background for its menus
-
Visual Studio 2003 uses a black background for its menus
-
Visual C++ 6.0 uses a grey background for its menus
In such cases of inconsistency between color schemes of Windows and color schemes of the IDE, Visual Assist attempts to use IDE schemes.
